MVP Cricket vs Teamo.

Teamo is a chat-first club app for several sports, priced by how many members you have, with a club website and Xero sync. MVP Cricket is cricket-only, priced flat, and built around a Play-Cricket-fed MVP leaderboard and team sheets.

The short version

Teamo is a solid all-rounder: messaging, payments, memberships, a website builder and a Xero connection, priced in tiers by member count. MVP Cricket does less outside cricket, but goes further inside it: a points-based MVP leaderboard from every Play-Cricket scorecard, published team sheets with confirmations, and a flat price that doesn’t rise as the club grows.

Teamo details checked 9 October 2026 from the sources below. Prices and features change; check theirs before deciding.

Where Teamo is the better fit

  • Your club has fewer than 50 members and wants a free app, paying only transaction fees.
  • Chat is the centre of how your club communicates, and you want it child-safe and in one place.
  • You need a club website, membership cards or a Xero connection from the same provider.
  • Your club runs several sports.

Where MVP Cricket is the better fit

  • You want an MVP points leaderboard from every Play-Cricket scorecard, the reason players open the app each week.
  • Captains want published team sheets with one-tap confirmations and a shareable team sheet image.
  • You’d rather pay a flat £99 a year than a tier that rises as your membership grows.
  • You want card fees at Stripe’s own rate, with no platform percentage on top.

What it costs a club in a season

Take a club collecting £15,000 in a season, in 1,000 card payments averaging £15, all on standard UK cards.

On MVP Cricket’s Club plan that costs £99 for the year, plus Stripe’s own fees of £425 (1.5% + 20p a payment), paid to Stripe from the club’s account: £524 in total, and none of the £425 comes to us.

On Teamo, a club with 100–150 members is on the Silver tier at £21.99 a month (£263.88 a year), and card payments cost 1.5% + 20p plus a 1% platform fee: £575 on these numbers. That’s £838.88 in total.

So for a club that size MVP Cricket is about £315 a season cheaper. Under 50 members, Teamo’s free tier changes the sum: £575 in fees against MVP Cricket’s £524.

One caveat in fairness: on MVP Cricket, premium and corporate cards cost more at Stripe (2.8% + 20p), so a club whose members pay mostly on premium cards will pay a little more in Stripe fees than these figures.

Switching

Every club starts on MVP Cricket’s Free plan: connect Play-Cricket with your site ID and the leaderboard and stats fill from the season you’ve already played, so you can run both side by side before deciding. How the Play-Cricket sync works.
