In, maybe, out. One tap a Saturday.

How it works for players

The app’s home screen shows the next couple of match days, each with three buttons: available, maybe, not available. One tap answers for the whole day, so if there are two fixtures that Saturday, it covers both. The Availability page looks further ahead, date by date, and players can change their answer any time before selection.

There’s nothing to download from an app store. MVP Cricket installs to the home screen from the browser, and players sign in with an email and a six-digit code. Installing it turns on push notifications, so the reminder and the selection both arrive on their phone.

How it works for captains

• One picture for every team. Answers are per date, so the 1s, 2s and Sunday captains all pick from the same list of who’s free.
• Per-match overrides. Available Saturday but only released for the 1s? Set the player’s status for that one match; their day answer and their other games stay untouched.
• Chase only the silent. The chase tool nudges only players who haven’t answered for the date, and the same nudge never fires twice.
• Straight into selection. The answers feed the selection screen, where the side is drafted and published.

Why players actually answer

The hard part of availability is never the poll, it’s getting players to open it. At Brookweald, the MVP leaderboard fixed that: players were already opening the app after every game to check their points, so answering for next Saturday was one more tap, not another message to ignore.
